Another week has passed and I think I have hanged out in the teacher's lounge more than in my actual classrooms. Darius has been also by my side all throughout the week, It's kind of weird, really. Because no one has really been so interested in my life to stay by my side, so Darius was a first.
I have been also getting sheets of paper with songs written on them, like a playlist of some sort. Well, I don't complain though. The one who has been sending me those has some good taste in music. Like?? Come on, they listen to artists- even bands that I listen to! So that was really exciting.
"Celestine, dalaga, halika ka na't kumain ng hapunan. Hinihintay ka na nung kambal, yung mommy nyo bukas na raw uuwi at marami pang inaasikaso sa University," sabi ni Manang habang palapit sya ng palapit hanggat sa makaupo sa sya sa kama, kung nasaan ako.
I faced Manang and she gently stroked my hair. Call me a baby, but I really like it when Manang gently strokes my hair. I mean, She was the one to raise me. She was the mother I never had. She treated me like I was her own.
Manang smiled at me "Hay nako, Samantha Celestine, halika na't sigurado ako na gutom na gutom na yung kambal," and just like that Manang pulled me up from my bed and down the stairs we go.
Dumaan ang ilang mga linggo, napapansin ko na lang na palagi kaming magkasama ni Darius. I also found myself loving my course because he helped me realized that maybe, nursing really is for me.
I realized that there really are certain things in life that is unexpectedly meant for one self. I just have to accept, embrace, and love it because everything happens for a reason.
